Rachel Lunan

My name is Rachel Lunan, and I came to Language Link from Texas in the autumn of 2005 and spent the two next years living and teaching in Mitischie. Though I originally entered Language Link as an intern teacher, my decision to stay on as a fully qualified EFL teacher paid off in the beginning of 2007. At that time I was made the provisional ADOS of Mitischie. Though I thoroughly enjoyed teaching, I wanted to do more. Having expressed an interest in teacher training as well as having offered to assist the Teacher Training Department on several occasions with their training needs, I was promoted to Assistant Teacher Trainer in the summer of 2007 and now work under the supervision of Jennifer Wendt, Language Link’s Senior Teacher Trainer. Having also worked in three different summer camps, I spent part of this summer liaising with and providing academic support to Language Link’s summer camp teachers. Though a summary of my teaching experience would include having taught young learner, adult and examination preparation courses, I truly prefer the challenge and experience that was provided by my young learner groups. It is, therefore, in the young learner arena that I am truly at my best. If ever you find yourself in need of advice and suggestions on activities and games for young learners, feel free to call on me. You’ll also find my suggestions on board presentations of grammar points and classroom management helpful. To sum up, I feel that because I started my teaching career with Language Link in Russia and have ‘came up through the ranks’, I know what our students expect and need.
