Having studied various periods of Russian history it was always an ambition of mine to experience the country in person; to find out what lay beyond the stereotypes and stories and to see what normal life really meant in Moscow. Not long after arriving I realized that normal is never an adjective that should be associated with Moscow. Having traveled to a number of other countries and capitals in the world Moscow stands above in my opinion as one of the most vibrant, eclectic, astonishing cities in the world.
Moscow is a city where the history is visible in every inch of the city, a city that you can immerse yourself in as easily as you can lose yourself in the labyrinthine Metro System. It’s one thing to see the vibrancy of Moscow but it’s another to call it home. Nothing is more satisfying than when you can sail through the rush-hour traffic like a true Muscovite, nipping through the crowds like a local.
Language Link itself was the perfect introduction to Moscow and Russia. Having taught for some years I arrived in Moscow hoping to develop my skills and to learn more about the discipline I now intended to do for more than just a Gap-Year. Language Link was perfect for that, from the courses I taught to the support staff and from the all the numerous teachers who work for the company, Language Link makes sure that you have everything you need and that you are fully equipped to teach to the best of your abilities.
In proof of that I can assuredly say that many of the teachers I knew and worked with at Language Link were some of the best in the business. Having now moved on to be an Academic Director myself I know just how difficult it is to get good teachers, to train them and to keep them. Aside from everything else, the quality of the staff is the best way to measure the level of a school and Language Link is first class in that respect.
