General English

Language Link offers a wide range of General English courses for students from complete beginner to advanced level. Our courses are designed to help students practice all aspects of the English language with an emphasis on oral fluency in a wide variety of social situations. For this purpose we use a variety of techniques and approaches alongside leading published and Language Link teaching materials. Our lessons include a balance of activities focusing on the key areas of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as well as developing the students' skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Following our Language Link Placement Test students are assigned one of the following levels: Level 0 Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 Levels 6-7 Levels 8-9 Levels 10-11 - Complete Beginner - Elementary A - Elementary B - Pre-intermediate - Intermediate - Upper-intermediate - Pre-advanced - Advanced - Proficiency Each of our courses runs for 18 weeks whereby students typically study 6 hours per week and may choose from classes from 8.30 in the morning to 19.30 in the evening. Student Testing and Progress Throughout our courses, students regularly review new structures and vocabulary and are tested every 6 weeks with one-to-one tutorials, when needed, to support the learning process. All our tests are specifically designed to give an indication of how well the student is managing with the course, and to highlight areas for additional study. Group size: Students may choose to study in groups of maximum 6 or 12 students. English Plus One Our special English Plus One supplement is for all students wishing to focus on individual language areas and language skills through one to one tuition. Our flexible programme enables students to focus on areas of their choice either within a General English programme or within a field specific to their work or special interest, e.g. marketing, business writing, holiday English etc. Our flexible scheduling enables students to add up to six hours to their existing language course at a time most convenient to the student. All students will receive a Language Link Certificate of Achievement at the end of their studies.
