Teachers come and teachers go, and though there are no guarantees that a teacher will stay longer than the academic year for which they have signed up, your chances of keeping him or her are improved if you can provide that teacher with the possibility of increasing their skill base and growing as a teacher. Unfortunately, the logic of this is oftentimes lost on many employers who see the cost of providing in-house training courses as an additional and unwarranted expense. Nor do they see how their students will ultimately benefit from a better or more knowledgeable teacher- even if that teacher is only there for the short-term. After all, though the teacher may leave, the students will most likely return, happy to have had a good teacher . . . and happy to have told their friends all about that good teacher and the school that employed him.
So in the true spirit of practicing what we preach, Language Link has developed a number of in-house training courses open to all teachers with the desire to grow as individuals and excel as teachers. These courses as well as an overview of their course content are contained within this section.
