Courses & Programmes
Language Link maintains an English Language programme rich in variety and tailored to meet the needs of a modern community of language learners. In so doing, Language Link has developed a syllabus that allows all age groups and abilities to study at one school of English.
Within the General English Department, Language Link runs seven levels of general English classes from Absolute Beginners through Advanced. Our programmes have likewise been created so as to separate our students and classes into the following categories: young learners (see below), pre-secondaries, secondaries and adults. A teaching framework is provided for each level and teachers are supplied with coursebooks and relevant supplementary materials for use within their classes.
Throughout the academic year, Language Link Schools of English offer two and four-week intensive English language courses for those looking to improve their communicative skills in English. Regardless of whether the student has three hours a day or six, is a beginner or advanced speaker of English, Language Link has a course designed especially for him or her, and with classes limited to eight students and taught by qualified, native English teachers, students are up and speaking English in the shortest possible period of time.
With the ever-increasing importance of international examinations, Language Link has created a number of in-house syllabi used in the teaching of these courses. Prior to entering an examination preparation course, a student is thoroughly diagnosed in order to determine his or her current level of language performance. Students are likewise advised as to the most appropriate examination for their needs, should the student not know this. Tuition and preparation is given for the following exams: the TOEFL, all Cambridge Exams, IELTS, GMAT, and on request SAT or GRE.
The Young Learners Department is currently being set up to support Language Link teachers teaching English within the state school system (primary and secondary). Classes often take place after school hours. Teachers are provided with relevant teaching materials and a Materials Design Programme is currently in place.
Business English is conducted either in-company or on the school's premises. Programmes are tailored towards the clients' needs and classes are either small groups or one to one. Teachers design their own courses and are supported with relevant coursebooks and supplementary materials. Students are currently offered BEC and EFB in our major city centres.
Language Link offers a multi-level Intensive Business English Programme for students who need to use English for international business. Each course has been designed around the specific needs of a particular level of language learner and is very practical in nature. In all our courses we aim to equip students with the language skills required to deal with real-world business situations, e.g. meetings and negotiations, telephoning, meeting clients, writing letters and reports, giving presentations. This we achieve through a balance of language activities within a lesson used alongside our own and leading published Business English materials.
Language Link has developed a comprehensive Language Assessment Service for both current students and external clients. This entails an examination in all key language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking and tests how well the student/ client can communicate in everyday General English and business situations. This assessment may be used as proof of language proficiency for employers within Russia and the CIS.
